So there is this Party Dance coming up and I do not know what to wear for it. I have been standing and looking in my square dance closet, yes I have a square dance closet, trying to figure out what I want to wear.
I
am sure I am not the only one that has ever done this before. I mean, I
am sure I am not the only one that can’t find something to wear, and I
am not the only one that has a square dance closet full of square dance
clothes and accessories.
Sometimes I wish that I can trade in or sell my clothes and get new ones because I get tired of wearing the same old outfit over and over again.
Well, one Club, has found a solution to this problem! The Mavericks Square Dance Club from Roseville California, has an annual clothes closet. This clothes closet lets dancers sell their gently used square dance clothes for a price that they get to set. However, the clothes need to be in good condition and you have to think of the buyer.
You need to ask yourselves one question and that question is “would I buy this?” The answer you are looking for is “yes!” If the answer is no, then that item may not be in the clothes closet, however, you are able to donate the item to the Mavericks Club and they will donate those items to a charitable organization.
I think the best part about selling your gently used square dance clothes is that the seller, you, receive 75% of the sale and the Mavericks Club will retain 25%. This is great news! You get to keep more than half of the percentage of the asking price which you got to set in the first place. To me, this means I made some money!
The clothes closet is usually from noon to about 3pm at Royer Park (Veterans Memorial Hall, 110 Park Drive) in Roseville, CA. They always have a wide selection of square dance clothes. They have a large selection of dresses, blouses, belts, petticoats, men's shirts, pants, vests, and all kinds of square dance apparel in many different sizes. And yes of course they are all priced reasonably by the seller.
I do believe that if you go there, you will leave with not only one item, but a few!
